Pelicans
Pelicans have this elegance and "don’t mess with me" aura that fascinates me. Their enclosure at the zoo in Rostock is very pretty, including a fountain in a lake surrounded by weeping willows. One of the birds kept looking at me over its shoulder distrustfully, while the other one posed and preened. A little girl watched us while we sketched and came so close that her nose nearly touched my mother's paper.
Ink and watercolor
I guess this could have been my contribution to inktober, if only I hadn’t done it in November. I quite like the brown paper background, I think it goes well with this style.

In this I experimented with Kyle's brush package, trying to use as many as I could without the picture getting all wonky. His brushes are awesome!
